SKATEPORT's New Team Rider...........

Skateport have had a great working relationship with SuperToxic Urethane for a while now (Ever since they sponsored Skateport’s ChrisLangford). They supply the UK with top grade Urethane and are growing all the time the team includes the likes of DC hopeful and steezy rider Lloyd Mcleggon (Get your Vote on foe Lloyd's Flow to Pro campaign). This relationship continued when they helped us bolster the ranks with a new street skater! Just recently Team manager Dan Goodman had been concerned the team was weighted a little bit towards park skaters. Whilst asking around various other teams and checking out new blood on the internet it was S.T.U that came up with the goods for us! They recommended two awesome street skaters in the form of Ross Zajac and Liam ‘Danish’ Palmer. Ross is already officially on board and we are waiting on self-confessed computer Muppet Danish to get things sorted out online and make it official! (to be fair he has also had a 2 week holiday in between the first contact!)
Check out Super Toxic at the DC embassy on the following link EMBASSY TRIP!

Ross Zajac- FS nose blunt slide
Ross has been skating for about 12 years and got on Adio shoes through a filming comp where he had to submit footage. He was 1st place and got a year’s sponsorship from them. Ross tries to get to any comps that happen up North and before he was sponsored he placed in the last 3 war of the roses comps in Blackpool. Now that he's sponsored this year will be his first of entering all the sponsored competitions including his first Skateport trip to Boardmasters in August! (we know he's gonna kill it!)

Ross - Krooked Grind

2012/13 look like they are going to be ground-breaking years for Ross and we are proud to have him on board.

His Sponsors are S4 Skateshop, Skateport skateboards SuperToxic Urethane and Adio.

This should be EPIC fun! The plan is to hire a coach and head off to Orford Park were we will have a 90 Min skate followed by a 30 minute jam were points will be awarded and noted. Then onto Victoria Park for much the same! After that we head to Runcorn's Phoenix to repeat the feat! We can then either go to Frodsham park or head back to Southport park? Or vote and go back to out favourite park of the day!
Stop Two: Victoria Park
NOW HERE'S THE KICKER. The scores are gonna be given on effort of the skater at their current ability! So lets say we've got someone who has never dropped in before and they do it at one of the parks they will score more highly that let's say Chris Langford doing a tre flip, its all about upping your game on the day!

Stop Three: Pheonix park

SO ANYONE COULD WIN. Prizes have been donated by Monster, DC, Bowl-Head Skateboards and of course Skateport and will include clothing and Decks etc. We will even provide refreshments. This is a non profit event but we will need all who are interested in this epic day of skate to help pay for the coach. We are currently waiting on quotes from 8 different companies and will obviously get the best deal for you guys.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT: there has been lots of interest in this event and people have started buying tickets here, a 49 seater coach is booked, you can either pay in the shop or over our website HERE!

There is even a back up plan for if the weather is bad! thjis is going to be a sick day! See you there!

Bollington Opening Comp

Sean Mollan and Chris Langford headed down to the Bollington Opening Jam, unfortunately they got there right at the end of the comp, but had a session with the local skaters afterwards.  It was a really sunny day and there was a BBQ etc. local people where out to enjoy the day and see what the skatepark had to offer.

It was really good to see a comp run the way it did, everyone who took part enjoyed themselves and pushed each other, it was all about skateboarding and having fun.

The park is awesome, a nice change to many other council built parks, you can tell the local skaters where involved in planning it.

The park has lots of really creative transitions and angles and there are so many posibilities, other councils really need to up the game now.

Unfortunately Dan couldn't make it to the comp as he was in hospital, 7 years of not looking after a back injury finally caught up with him and he had to spend about 18 days in hospital!
